Brazilian Grape Tree (also known as Jabuticaba
and native to Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Bolivia) does not use
branches to grow fruits.
It grows fruits (and flowers) directly on the trunk. Apparently they are delicious! Has anybody ever tried them? The fresh fruit may begin to ferment in as little as 3 days after harvest, so they are often used to make jams, tarts, strong wines, and liqueurs.
